GUILLERMO DEL TORO'S "AT HOME WITH MONSTERS" EXHIBIT AT LACMA

My sculpture "Divine Messenger" will be on display at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) as part of "At Home With Monsters" exhibit - selected works from the collection of film director Guillermo de Toro. The opening reception will take place this Saturday July 30th, 2016 from 8-10. This spectacular collection will be on view until November 27th. Don't miss it if you're in LA!

 "A CONSORTIUM OF LOST SOULS" AT STRANGER FACTORY GALLERY

 

Solo show of new works including the usual cast of misfits, freaks, shaman, monsters and robosapiens; all surviving the brutality and beauty of existence. It is the first time I will be showing this many sculptures since about 2003.  The story is the same told through each medium. 2D work is mixed media paintings on wood panels. The 3D pieces are a unique collection of hand sculpted elements and found objects and remnants all stained with a veneer of time.

LaRotonda offers an interpretation of man's exploration of sacred and profane through the lens of an untainted humanity. He presents the search for the divine through a unique pallet that strips the human subject of eccentricities and shows the bare character juxtaposed against the somber expression of sacred iconography.
